Accessibility

Oasyard is a registered business name of a sole trader established in Victoria, Australia, holding ABN 23 448 593 086. We want everyone to be able to use Oasyard, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or voice control.

The standard we aim for

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is the standard courts and regulators generally look to, and the one referenced by Australia's Disability Discrimination Act 1992 guidance and the Americans with Disabilities Act in the United States.

What we have done

Every meaningful image has a text alternative, so a screen reader can describe it.
Controls that show only an icon carry a spoken label, so a back arrow announces "Go back" rather than a symbol.
A "Skip to main content" link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
Keyboard focus is always visible, so you can see where you are without a mouse.
The whole app works at phone size and can be zoomed without content being lost.
Text is set at a readable size with a strong contrast against its background.
Motion is kept minimal, and we honour your system's "reduce motion" setting.
The before/after slider is fully keyboard-operable, with arrow, Page and Home/End keys.
Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.

The before/after slider works without a mouse

Every before/after comparison is a proper slider control. Tab to it and the arrow keys move it: left and right (or up and down) by 5% a step, Page Up and Page Down by 20%, and Home and End jump straight to the original photo or the finished design. A screen reader announces how much of the redesign is showing as you move. This was previously a drag-only control and the shortfall we named on this page; it is fixed.

Where we fall short, honestly

We would rather tell you the truth than claim a clean sheet:

Designs are images. An AI-generated garden design is inherently visual. We describe each design's style, plants and materials in the "Style palette" as text, so the substance is available without seeing the picture, but the image itself cannot be fully conveyed in words.
We have not yet commissioned an independent audit. Our testing to date is our own, using keyboard navigation and screen-reader checks.

We do not use an accessibility overlay

We deliberately do not use an overlay widget or accessibility plugin. Overlays sit on top of a page without fixing the code underneath, frequently interfere with the assistive technology someone already uses, and do not make a site accessible. We fix the underlying markup instead.

If something does not work for you

Please tell us — it is the fastest way for us to fix it, and we treat it as a priority rather than a complaint. Email oasyard@gmail.com with the page or feature and what happened. We aim to reply within 5 business days, and we will tell you what we can do and when.

If you need a design and cannot complete the process yourself, contact us and we will help you through it directly at no extra cost.

Formal complaints

In Australia you may contact the Australian Human Rights Commission. In the United States, information about the ADA is available from the US Department of Justice. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
